Firearms & Ammunition Policy

IMPORTANT: Kinzua Classifieds is a platform for connecting buyers and sellers. We DO NOT process transactions, nor do we verify the legal status of users. All firearm sales must comply with Federal and Pennsylvania State laws.

1. Pennsylvania State Law Requirements

Under Pennsylvania law, certain restrictions apply to private sales:

  • Handguns: All private sales or transfers of handguns must be processed through a licensed importer, manufacturer, or dealer (FFL), or at a County Sheriff’s office.
  • Long Guns (Rifles/Shotguns): While private sales of long guns between PA residents are generally permitted without a dealer, we strongly recommend using an FFL to ensure a background check is performed.
  • Out-of-State Sales: Any transaction involving a buyer or seller from outside of Pennsylvania MUST involve an FFL dealer in the recipient's state.

2. Federal Regulations (ATF)

Users must comply with the Gun Control Act (GCA):

  • You may not sell a firearm to anyone you know or have reasonable cause to believe is prohibited from possessing one (e.g., felons, individuals with certain domestic violence convictions).
  • Selling firearms as a regular course of business without a Federal Firearms License is illegal.

3. Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited from being listed on Kinzua Classifieds:

  • Fully automatic weapons or parts to convert weapons to full-auto.
  • Short-barreled rifles or shotguns (NFA regulated) unless proof of tax stamp is handled via an FFL.
  • Homemade firearms without serial numbers (Ghost Guns).
  • Explosive ammunition or silencers/suppressors.
